In the spring of 2011, my brother Joseph and I launched the Marinus Ensemble as new chamber music collective. I was about to graduate on the viola from the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia and he had moved back from studying the cello in Switzerland. Together, it had been our dream to bring great musicians together to play great chamber music and our dream was being realized!
Five years later, Marinus is flourishing. We have become established as one today’s premier chamber ensembles. Our roster consists of twenty extraordinary artists, all of whom are acclaimed in their own right, and received training at such reknowned schools as the Curtis Institute, Juilliard School and the New England Conservatory. We come together in various combinations to bring new perspectives to great music and are dedicated to engaging audiences through interactive performances, residencies and outreach events.
We offer concerts of the highest caliber and fulfill our mission by giving audiences access to riveting performances of great chamber music. Already, Marinus has been the Ensemble-in-Residence at both Washington and Lee University and Eastern University. We founded a concert series in MainLine Philadelphia, and frequently perform at concert halls, universities and churches around the country.
